Look at them! They are totally fun. I just found out that the groom is the brother of an old school friend of mine. These two have a really sophisticated style. I loved working downtown! Cleints get really nervous about the WHERE of an engagement portrait. Good portraits and good light can happen anywhere! What I need to do good work are clients that are as connected to each other and at ease with themselves as these two.

I guess it's true that you meet people at weddings! I actually met this bride when she attended a wedding I was shooting in Mexico. in the time spent relaxing in the sun, exploring Mexico and (ahem) a little drinking - this woman's stories and infections laugh really made an impression. Sorry - but some people are just plain cute! These are two people who know how to laugh and have fun but actually have a strong emotional tie. Winter weddings are a challenge, and for an experienced photographer it's where you really strut your stuff. Here in Alberta, a winter wedding rarely has daylight or the ability to shoot outside. We placed 6th in the Fall competition of the Artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalists. This was a very emotional wedding. Both becasue of the warmth of the Bride and Groom and their deep connections to their family and to each other. Claudio is a brick layer and it was fun to incorporate well laid brickwork into both their engagement portraits and their wedding photos.

These two have such a great love story! There were 6 years when they weren't together that their friends and family laughingly refer to as 'the dark years'. Obviously things have brightened up, because they are together and happily hitched. Jenni planned this magic by long distance from Halifax, NS and did an amazing job. I can't say enough how perfect this wedding was! The azure and orange colour scheme against a perfect blue sky on the terrace of the Mac Hotel. Need I say more? My favourite moment was when the bride and groom saw each other for the first time. The energy that pours off of couples at those moments is amazing! It really fuels my work and warms my heart.
